SpeakAccent helps people learn languages from real podcasts. This policy explains what information the app and website may handle, why it is needed, and how to contact us.

What we do not do

What stays on your device

Podcast playback progress, downloaded episodes, local transcripts, saved words, saved phrases, shadowing attempts, pronunciation results, and app preferences may be stored on your device so the app works quickly and offline. If you do not create an account or enable sync, this local learning data is not uploaded to a SpeakAccent account service.

Account, sync, and Premium access

If SpeakAccent offers accounts or subscription sync, we may process your email address, subscription status, selected learning languages, native language, app preferences, followed podcasts, study items, and progress needed to keep your experience available across devices.

Transcription, translation, and shadowing

The app may create transcripts, translations, pronunciation scores, and shadowing recordings when you choose to use those features. Some processing can happen on device. If a server feature is enabled, the minimum required audio, text, or metadata may be sent securely to provide that feature.

Podcast playback and discovery

When you search for or play podcasts, the app may connect to public podcast directories, RSS feeds, artwork URLs, and audio files provided by third parties. Those podcast providers may receive standard technical information from your device, such as IP address and user agent, under their own privacy practices.

Feedback and support

If you send feedback, bug reports, feature suggestions, or support emails, we process the information you provide, plus basic technical details needed to understand the issue, respond, prevent abuse, and improve the product.

Website launch list

If you join the launch list on this website, we store your email address and the time of signup so we can notify you about SpeakAccent availability, subscriptions, and early access.

Payments

Web subscriptions may be processed by Stripe or another payment provider. App Store subscriptions are processed by Apple. Payment providers handle payment details; SpeakAccent receives only the information needed to confirm access, support purchases, and manage subscription status.

Children

SpeakAccent is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13.

Your choices

You can delete local app data from your device. If account sync is available, you can request account or data deletion by contacting us. You can also contact us to access, correct, or delete personal information associated with your email address.

Security

We use HTTPS where data is transmitted to SpeakAccent services. No system is perfect, but we aim to collect only what is needed and protect it appropriately.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update the date above and publish the new version on this page.
